What happened to TouchProActive?

On Saturday, March 20, 2004, our web hosting service, CI Host, in Texas was hit by a worm/virus attack. For nine days our web pages were either totally or partially inaccessible and we were not able to change any pages to let our members and visitors know what was going on.

The functioning of this site relied upon a SQL database that contained all of our membership information, articles, discussion board messages, and the code necessary to display most of the pages. CI Host did not have any provision that allowed us to keep a copy of our database, assuring us instead that they kept daily backups in the event of a disaster such as this. Unfortunately, with no other explanation, CI Host has informed us that the database is "unrecoverable."

It would take us thousands of dollars and many weeks to rebuild the database. Regretably, we do not have the additional funding for this undertaking and have concluded that we must close the doors on our original business plan.
